Why Temporary Work?

Temporary positions are a great option for job seekers who have been away from the market for a while, candidates looking for more flexible work schedules, or professionals in-between jobs. A high percentage of our temporary workers are converted to permanent employees within a few months of employment. Here are just a few benefits to temporary work:

  • Try a new position or company without a long-term commitment
  • Break into a new industry
  • Gain valuable new skills
  • Maintain employment while between permanent positions

Candidate Q&A

I am a temporary job seeker thinking about using First Staff Services. What are your fees?
First Staff Services does NOT charge job seekers anything for our services. Our fees are built in to the markup we charge our client companies that are seeking temporary talent.
Why should I work with First Staff Services?
Here are three reasons why you should choose First Staff Services:

  1. We take a personal approach to recruiting, helping you find a position that fits your career goals, whether you’re seeking a short-term position or something more permanent.
  2. Our recruiters have a wide network of clients seeking a variety of talent.
  3. We work with you to fine-tune your resume and interview skills before you meet with employers, giving you the advantage in the interview process.

What is the best way to begin using First Staff's services?
Contact one of our temporary staffing consultants to explore how First Staff Services can help match you to a position that will meet your short-term (and possibly long-term) career goals. You can also apply to positions directly through our career portal.
What is the interview process at First Staff Services?
After we receive your resume a recruiter will contact you to set up a phone screen. This initial interview is to get a sense of your background and skillset beyond your resume, as well as what kind of positions you might be interested in. If we have a position that seems like a good fit, we will bring you in for a face-to-face interview to go over the job and the company in more detail and to fill out some preliminary paperwork. Then we present your resume to the client and they decide who to interview and when.

Most employers will not spend more than 30 seconds examining what you have submitted to them. Your resume is but one of 50 or even 100 that are vying for the attention of this employer. This single sheet needs to be very succinct and structured otherwise it will likely be thrown out.
